MAX32625PICO Programmable Interface Controller
Gosh, I thought Mac OS X was and has always been bulletproof according to the Apple community. People realized that Mac OS is just as vulnerable as Windows, and that most of Mac OS users know very. Mac OS X: Mac OS X comes with SSH software called Terminal. Open the Applications folder, then the Utilities folder to find it. Open Terminal and type this command: ssh login.itd.umich.edu. Log in with your uniqname and UMICH password. At the% prompt, type pico and press ENTER, or RETURN. Pico opens a buffer (temporary storage for any text you. The Raspberry Pi is a tiny and affordable computer that you can use to learn programming through fun, practical projects. Join the global Raspberry Pi community. Although the 2204A is a base model scope it uses the same software as Pico's high end models so the software full featured, well supported, and frequently updated. Software updates are free and OS support extends to Win 7/8/10 (SDK). They also have Betas for Mac OS and Linux so there is a cost free OS option available if I choose to go that way.

Overview¶
The MAX32625PICO is a multifaceted development tool. Not only is this a compact, full featured CMSIS-DAP debug probe, it is also a very capable development board.
The MAX32625PICO comes preloaded with DAPLink code so that it can be used as a programmer/debugger right out of the box. In addition to the standard DAPLink adapter features, this board includes a few enhancements. Embedded through the same 10 pin Cortex SWD connector, it adds support for a virtual UART and 1-wire board identification. Another differentiating feature is the adaptable signal voltage. The board uses the voltage provided at the VCC pin on the SWD header to set the signal level used by the adapter. This allows the MAX32625PICO to interface to any system with 1.8V to 3.3V signaling.
The board is also very useful as a development board all by itself. The castellated pads along the sides are conveniently arranged in a dual row set at 100mil pitch to be compatible with breadboards, and there are no components on the back side, so it can be surface-mounted as module on another board. This is an easy, compact way to get a useful set of resources from a micro USB connector including: +5V, +3.3V, +1.8V supplies, SPI, I2C, UART and 1-Wire serial interfaces, 14 GPIO and 2 analog inputs.
Wether you are looking for a very capable CMSIS-DAP debugger, or a compact embeddable development platform, the MAX32625PICO is a great multi-tool to have at your disposal.

Firmware Updates¶
Like most DAPLink boards, the MAX32625PICO board comes with a bootloader installed to allow for firmware updates over USB. The same procedure is used wether you are updating the DAPLink code or applying your own custom image. To activate the bootloader, hold down the button while connecting to the computer with the image to be installed. When the bootloader is activated, a drive named 'MAINTENANCE' will appear. Simply drag-n-drop the binary image onto the MAINTENANCE drive to program the image into the board.

Getting Started with mbed¶
1. Connect your microcontroller to a PC¶
Use the USB lead to connect your mbed to a PC. The status light will come on, indicating it has power. After a few seconds of activity, the PC will recognise the mbed Microcontroller as a standard USB drive.

2. Click the MBED.HTM link to get logged in¶
Go to the new USB Drive, and click MBED.HTM to open it in a web browser.
If you do not have an mbed account, choose 'Signup', and create your mbed Account. Otherwise, log in with your normal username and password.
This will give you access to the website, tools, libraries and documentation.
PC Configuration¶
Your mbed Microcontroller can appear on your computer as a serial port. On Mac and Linux, this will happen by default. For Windows, you need to install a driver:

From a host PC to communicate with mbed you will need a terminal application
. This allows the mbed Microcontroller to print to your PC screen, and for you to send characters back to your mbed.

Some terminal programs (e.g. TeraTerm) list the available serial ports by name. However, if you do need to know the identity of the serial port so that you can attach a terminal or an application to it:

Downloading A program¶
1. Save a program binary (.bin) to the Platform¶
Hold down the button while connecting the board to your computers USB port. A drive named 'MAINTENANCE' will appear.
Download the DAPLink binary image:
Save the program binary file to your MAINTENANCE Microcontroller Disk, just like you would with a normal USB disk. The Status LED will flash as the PC writes the file to the Microcontroller disk. The file is now consumed.
2. Disconnect and reconnect the board¶
After the board has been disconnected and reconnected, the board will appear as a drive named 'DAPLINK', and is now ready to use for programming or debugging another board.

Information
The factory bootloader image can be reloaded or replaced with the use of an appropriate SWD debugger setup. For example a second MAX32625PICO fitted with a Tag-Connect TC2050-IDC-NL-050-ALL cable. The factory bootloader occupies 64KiB of flash from address 0x00000000 through 0x0000FFFF.
Known issues¶
Debugging and running Greentea tests¶
By default, the MAX32625PICO board runs a bootloader to receive a binary over USB, hence it can't be used straight away with Greentea (see issue #14492)
To test the MAX32625PICO you need two boards and a Tag-Connect cable. Here is an explanation from MAX32625PICO datasheet.
In addition to the preinstalled bootloader, the SWD signals are available at surface pads on the back side of the board, allowing the board to be programmed or debugged with the TC2050 series of cable adapters from Tag-Connect (such as the TC2050-IDC-NL-050-ALL). The surface pads are hidden if the board is permanently mounted to another board. The suggested footprints provided for using the MAX3265PICO as a module include two options for exposing the SWD signals when mounted:
- Connect to the SWD signals with the edge pads provided.
- Add the specified cutout to the board to expose the tag-connect TC2050 footprint
Please follow these steps after completing connections;
- Download max32625pico_max32625pico.bin file from firmware updates page
- Load it to your DAPLink MAX32625PICO board
- And power up your DUT over USB

Mac OS X Command Line 101 by Richard Burton Pico: An Easy To Use Command Line Editor
This series is designed to help you learn more about the Mac OS X command line. If you have any questions about what you read here, check out the earlier columns, write back in the comments below, or join us in the Hardcore X! forum. If you read this column regularly, you have my sympathy. But seriously, folks, you may remember the mild hoo-ha that resulted when I actually dared to *gasp* write about the vi editor. Like most holy wars, that involving your Unix editor choice often comes down to personal tastes and prejudices. Therefore, I tried to chose a middle path between something pretty complex (emacs) and something pretty simple (pico). Naturally it satisfied no one. Let this be a lesson, kids; by staying in the middle of the road, you're more likely to get hit by traffic. However, as sometimes happens with shouts from the peanut gallery, someone yells out a good point. In this case, it may be that vi can be daunting for the inexperienced. And as I've said before, no one needs more daunts. Therefore, today's column is about a much simpler (though less powerful) editor, pico. pico comes with Jaguar, so you don't need to download and install it. Just to be sure, check: First, a little background. pico was originally developed to be the editor of choice for pine, a simple, easy-to-use command-line mail program written at the University of Washington. (In Unix' grand tradition of nested and self-referential acronyms, pine allegedly stands for 'pine is not elm', elm being another command-line mail tool.)pine was to be used by people who aren't comfortable with a Unix command line: secretaries, data entry clerks, students, and moving down the evolutionary scale, tenured professors and university administrators. As such, pine had to be plain, simple, and straightforward. Likewise, the editor had to be just as plain, simple, and straightforward as pine. This is no small task, but the people at U-dub are to be commended for the results. pine is about the best command-line mail utility I've stumbled across, and the editor, pico, can be grasped easily by secretaries and data entry clerks. Even Perl programmers like yours truly can use it. (Alas, bureaucrats have trouble with it, and the students are rather hit and miss. Well, let's face it, some things just aren't possible.) Oh, and don't bother looking for pine with the which command; it doesn't come with Jaguar. Invoking pico is straightforward. Just type: So, if you've been following this column for a while, and still have the old file testfile in your home directory, type: at the command line prompt. This should give you something along the lines of : So, what have we here? Remember, pico is designed for ease of use. If you want to add text, just start typing. There is no 'command mode' and 'insert mode' as in vi. Likewise, you can move around using the four arrow keys. All of the pico editing commands are control-characters, and some of the most commonly used are listed along the bottom of the terminal window. For those new to these sorts of things, this just means that you hold down the control key (on the lower left or lower right of your keyboard) while you hit the key. Since there is no printable 'control' character as such, it is represented by a carat, ^, followed by the letter. See the '^G Get Help' in the lower left of the screen? The '^G' denotes a control-G. Hold down the control key and hit a 'G' (lower or upper case, it doesn't matter). This should take you to the help screen, thus: If you do a ^V to move down a page, you should see the start of a complete list of pico commands. One of the first things that will strike you is that pico has a lot fewer commands than vi. This makes pico easier to learn, though less powerful. (Everything comes at a price, you know.) The commands I've found most useful are:
Also, notice that a message has appeared just above the list of commands on the bottom two lines. pico will generally print any such messages on this line. Notice that the ^U command is now 'Unjustify', not 'UnCut Text'. This is one place where pico is inconsistent in commands. Upon issuing this Unjustify command, we get:If you are really bored, you can do this all day. You have to be quick about it, though. After justifying the text, if you move your cursor off of the paragraph, ^U returns to 'UnCut Text'.So there we have it, a simple, straightforward, easy-to-use command-line editor. In fact, almost the experienced geeks among you may have noticed that many things are in place for writing our own shell scripts. We're not there yet, though; in our next column, we'll look at editing your commands on the command line, using some of the tools we've seen so far.
